- Welcome message from LSU Global Development Officer
Hey all the wonderful Loughborough students,
How are you?
My name is Christina Yan Zhang, your first ever Global Development Officer. Last year, I was your first International Development Officer. My title is changed because of the latest university top strategy-INTERNATIONALISATION.
Loughborough University has dramatically raised its profile on a national basis in the last 10 years as a TOP 6 British University, but since last year, we have begun to promote it on a global scale.
Therefore, please just imagine when you graduate from Loughborough University, it is not merely a TOP 6 British University, but also a WORLD LEADING UNIVERSITY. Then, you will not merely be highly employable on a national basis within the UK, but also on a global scale, with the top multi-national companies, such as in the America, Asia, EU, Australia, and Africa. Wherever you want to go, we will prepare you for the greatest possible expectation!!! How wonderful that would be!!!
My major responsibility is to globalise all students’ Loughborough Experience, preparing you for the best possible global job prospects while you are in Loughborough.
In order to achieve that, I have held a series of multi-cultural events to help you to have a global strategic outlook, an ability to adapt to various cultural challenges, a holistic personal development for the best possible future in this globalised world.
This strategy has got tremendous support from the University. The Vice Chancellor Shirley Pearce is very keen to make things happen since last year. She has emphasized the importance of this strategy on many important occasions. The position of Director of Internationalisation Strategy was also created last July, who leads the heads of all university departments and reports directly to VC for internationalising Loughborough University.
As the latest University Top Strategy, INTERNATIONALISATION may not be known by many of you. But it is not merely a top agenda of the Vice Chancellor, the Director of Internationalisation Strategy and me; it is also your top agenda. We are here, we will do everything we can to help implement this strategy and support you with the best possible future on a global stage.
What is more important is that YOU SHOULD GET INVOLVED! We do desperately need your support-spread the great news to your all friends, mobilize them to participate in the following multicultural events that will be held, support me and other execs in the union, in the university to come up with better ideas to help you to achieve the brightest future.
Accordingly, if you are as enthusiastic as I am to achieve the best possible future for yourself, your friends, your union and your university, please do not hesitate to contact me.
