WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010

Another year and another instalment in one of the best selling franchises in videogames today, this year they made some changes here and there. One of the most noticeable ones is in the create a superstar mode. The choices are huge, the things you can do now is amazing, and the level of detail in the created superstars is amazing. Being able to create a diving finisher is so much fun, a guy like me always creates a guy that is a high flyer, well now I can have a high flying finisher to cap it off. You can also take your created superstar on the Road to Wrestlemania mode which is even better and has even more depth then last years mode.

You can so the path of Mickie James in the Diva road, a tag team of Triple H and John Cena and of course your created star, as well as a few others. You even unlock a Santino one. Santino is one of the best parts of the games, especially in the created superstar road. The character models look great and you can also customize the WWE superstars themselves. The usual bugs seem to always be around in these games, collision detection is off again, the announcers repeat themselves too much and the A.I. is cheap. You get into a 2 on 1 match backstage and they just kick the crap out of you and you can barely get a chance to defend yourself.

Also new this year is the button mashing mini game for the Royal Rumble, you can still easily win the rumble, however the mini game is so long and boring. Why can’t you just punch or kick the guy off the apron?. You also get to make your own storyline, so you get to control what goes on, the dialogue and so on. No voice overs or anything obviously. The load times are taking away with the WWE logo and other odds and ends, to give you the authentic feel of a WWE TV program.

The crowds still look like crap, not as bad as they did back on the PSone. But still not great. The blood in the game looks really good and you’ll enjoy busting people open again and again. Now, I was saving the best feature of the game till last. That is the ability to share content with others via the PlayStation Network and XBOX Live. You are able to share your stories, your characters making the availability of new content and keeping the game fresh. All of this makes the game very deep and rich to play, cause you get to see what others in the wrestling world can come up with and you get to see some of the classic characters that people create.

Overall this is a pretty sweet package, you get alot of created stuff to play around with plus the ability to get new content from other users. Then you get the same issues that has plagued this game for years, the rubberband A.I., the bad collision detection, boring announcers etc etc. If you are a fan of the series, then you’ll play this without a problem. Others might find it boring, and look for another fighter.

Kameo sequel cancelled?

Hope you're not holding your breath for a sequel to Kameo: Elements of Power. According to a CVG report, a follow-up to the Xbox 360 launch title was under development at Rare, but has since been canceled in favor of freeing up resources for the Project Natal launch.

In fact, CVG's sources stated that other Rare franchises also had sequels in the works, and they've all arrived at similar fates as Kameo 2. They didn't specify exactly which series had gotten the axe, but it's entirely possible that there were plans for a new Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie, or Killer Instinct that will never see the light of day.

Though Rare's newfound focus on supporting Project Natal is partially to blame for the cancelations, CVG's insider also cites poor sales of the original Kameo as another reason for the abandoned sequel. And, honestly, were there really that many people who were looking forward to revisiting that world in the first place?

Resident Evil Zero gets a Wii Release Date

Just in time for Halloween, Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Zero has been given an official release date. Capcom has announced that the updated prequel will be out on the Wii in early December.

Like the first game in the Resident Evil Archives line, Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Zero is the original 2002 GameCube title with added motion control support. The original isn't extremely hard to find, but if you haven't played it yet, you might want to wait for the release.

God of War 3 get an ultimate edition

Ever since Bungie fired the first shot with their $129.99 Legendary edition of Halo 3, it seems like there's been an ongoing arms race of increasingly ludicrous videogame collector's editions. From replica Batarangs to night-vision goggles, there's no shortage of bizarre pack-ins for those of us who don't mind paying upwards of $100 for our games. And now Sony's ready to add to the madness with next year's "Ultimate Edition" of God of War 3. This premium release of God of War 3 includes all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a modern collector's edition: Your standard limited-edition art book, plus vouchers to download exclusive content like an in-game combat arena, a "Dominus" skin for Kratos, a making-of documentary, an album of heavy metal music inspired by the game, and the original soundtracks to the entire God of War trilogy. Oh, and it all comes packaged in an 8.3" wide x 10.5" long x 5.9" tall replica of Pandora's Box from the first God of War.

According to GameStop's product page for the "Ultimate Edition," all of that will set you back about $100 when the game arrives next March. That's not cheap, but at least you can use Pandora's Box to store some of those other gigantic collector's editions that are beginning to cramp your style.

fantastic!!

this game is probably one of the most unique and addictive games on gamecube. The game was announced back in 2000 in japan but disappeared under the microscope for a long while. this game is one of the est on gamecube, lots of side quests and the npcs are always doing something new s it doesn't feel dull. I recommend it, rent it. I can guarantee you'll have it for a long time

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2
If you're not a fan of Marvel comics, there's really no point in putting this smash-up in your console. Graphically, if you liked Ultimate Alliance 1, you'll see the improvement here. There are a few issues with paths (you're restricted to the garden path during an attack on the White House???) and the collectibles really don't have a lot of oomph in the rewards department, but it's a fun diversion. I've played it through once, but I probably won't feel the need to ever play it again.
