this is true, but the sales plunged because the western market for smartphones is oversaturated. Nokia just couldn't keep up with iPhone, Android and co. still a big part of the profits are made with low- cost cellphones for emerging countries, as well as telecommunications systems joint with siemens. they just don't care where they make their profit, at least it's profit.
