The President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek has sent his condolences to the families of the victims of the train crash in Russia on Friday evening. EP President Buzek has also offered his full support to the Russian authorities in their ongoing investigations.
Jerzy Buzek I am happy that President Barroso has acted swiftly in allocating the portfolios to the Commissioners-designate. The European Parliament is well prepared and ready to hold in-depth hearings to scrutinise their suitability for these important EU positions. The final vote on the full Commission is planned for 26 January.
